Take a virtual tour of Newcastle Interchange

30 May 2017

People will be able to take a tour of the Newcastle Interchange before it opens, thanks to a new smartphone app released today.

Revitalising Newcastle Program Director, Michael Cassel, said the Newcastle Interchange 360 app allows people to interact with the layout and design of the new interchange using their mobile device.

“The app shows 360 degree images from six perspectives; you can see the train platforms, Opal gates, and light rail stop – you can even look up and see what the roof will look like above you,” Mr Cassel said.

“The app provides an engaging, immersive and memorable introduction to the interchange.

The fully accessible interchange, set to open in October, will be a key hub in Newcastle’s new integrated transport network.

Located west of Stewart Avenue in Wickham, the new interchange will be a gateway to the city centre that will connect customers with trains, buses, taxis, light rail, and kiss and ride facilities.

Newcastle Interchange 360 is available for Apple and Android devices and free to download from the App Store or Google Play. Links to download the app are also on the Newcastle Interchange webpage on the Revitalising Newcastle website.
